TDSB – The Beat Goes On – A Rhino Charges In!

Apparently the TDSBToronto District School Board makes a habit of attempting to shut down Free Speech employing less than savoury tactics, as so eloquently put in an article in the Toronto Sun about the TDSB trying to intimidate a Canadian blogger Arnie Lemaire of BlazingCatFur – Mr. Lemaire has written quite a few articles about the TDSB see Here

“In what can be described as more TDSB theatre of the absurd, an obscure six-week-old blog comment resulted in police visiting his home like one might see back in the day of the Stasi in communist East Germany.”

From: TDSB sics police on sarcastic blogger – By Joe Warmington, Toronto Sun First posted: Wednesday, March 13, 2013 09:27 PM EDT | Updated: Wednesday, March 13, 2013 09:33 PM EDT

As you can see from the date – Wednesday March 13, 2013 – what Margaret Wilson, the investigator appointed by the Minister of Education for Ontario to conduct a review of the TDSB – described as a “climate of fear” permeating the TDSB goes back quite a ways.

Now – I haven’t (deliberately) read any of the articles posted on BlazingCatFur – yet – about the TDSB – but – there sure is A LOT OF THEM – here’s the thing – no matter what opinions Mr. Lemaire has expressed – whether I agree with them or not – as far as I’m concerned he has the absolute right to express them – this is partly why I posted the link to his site before even reading anything he has written – his right to Free Speech trumps anyone’s right – including mine – to “be offended

Now it is my turn – I have finally found out who Ryan Bird is – the Ryan Bird who “Sherry” threatened she was going to go to, and “tell on me”

Remove your two articles before I call Ryan Bird to call the police on you”

(emphasis added)

It seems she did “tell on me” because here is the latest “comment” from a member of the TDSB – Toronto District School Board – and here he is. Ryan Bird.

His comment.

“REMOVE DEFAMATORY ARTICLE

Your article is slander. REMOVE or else face the legal consequences of defamation of character.”

Ryan Bird is described in numerous articles –as a “TDSB spokesperson”

TDSB investigating explicit sex education pamphlets posted in classroom – By James Armstrong and Mark Carcasole Global News Link here.

“My understanding is that it was part of a sexual health resource that was offered up to students, should they want to see that,” said Ryan Bird, a spokesperson for the Toronto District School Board.

Bird said the school board took down the material once they were notified, but board officials say the pamphlets had been on display for months. Bird said the school board is looking into how long the pamphlets had been on display.

“You would think that somebody would’ve noticed it,” said Doretta Wilson, Executive Director of the Society for Quality Education. “It’s not that innocuous.”

TDSB director’s salary hiked despite letter from Education Minister – KAREN HOWLETT and CAROLINE ALPHONSO – The Globe and Mail – Published Friday, Nov. 21 2014, 5:00 AM EST

Last updated Friday, Nov. 21 2014, 5:00 AM EST – Link Here.

“The compensation of your new permanent Director is limited to the amount earned by the predecessor, in this case Mr. Chris Spence,” says the letter dated Jan. 10, 2014, a copy of which was obtained by The Globe and Mail.

A spokeswoman for Ms. Sandals said the minister and Mr. Bolton have had no formal communication since the January letter, and she is not aware of the details of the contract.

Mr. Bolton did not respond to an e-mail on Thursday. Ms. Quan has also refused to answer questions from The Globe.

TDSB spokesman Ryan Bird said Ms. Quan’s compensation was approved at a private board meeting attended by 18 of 22 trustees.

However, several school board sources said trustees were not part of the decision to pay Ms. Quan more than what her predecessor earned. Trustee Pamela Gough said it is “very troubling” that Mr. Bolton ignored Ms. Sandals’ letter.”

Fake teacher worked at five TDSB schools, police say – By:Alex BallingallNews, Published on Thu Jul 31 2014 – Link Here.

http://www.thestar.com/news/crime/2014/07/31/fake_teacher_worked_at_five_tdsb_schools_police_say.html

“Ryan Bird, spokesperson for the TDSB, said the man wasn’t hired by the school board, but rather is alleged to have assumed the identity of an existing employee on the substitute teacher’s list.

The board is now reviewing how it calls in and hires substitute teachers, Bird said. He would not comment on how the TDSB found out what was going on, or what spurred the discovery of an alleged imposter in their midst.

“We were made aware of this individual at one of the schools,” Bird said. “When we did become aware of it, Toronto police were notified immediately.”

Bird declined to comment when asked whether the man arrested knew the substitute teacher who was being impersonated, and referred the question to police.

Bird could not confirm whether the alleged impostor was getting paid. “I think it’s important to know that this is a very isolated incident. To our recollection this has never happened before at the TDSB,” Bird said.”

(emphasis added)

I was struck by two things – first the “spokesperson” of the TDSB “could not confirm” whether this fake teacher was getting paid – even though he was apparently employed as a teacher – and second, it seems that the TDSB relies on memory to recall incidents that happen within the TDSB – pardon me?

They don’t keep records???? About who teaches in their schools? About whether or not they are qualified to be teachers? Paid as teachers?

Tut tut Mr. Bird – that’s a tried a tested “device” for not answering a direct question – you learn that in law school – if you don’t want to answer a direct question you say “I don’t recall” sheesh – everyone knows that!

There are only two possible answers to “have there ever been any other instances when an unqualified person impersonated a teacher in the TDSB?”

Yes or No. Or if you really want to be emphatic – “absolutely not”

Here’s a couple of Child Safety Policy questions for you Rhino.

What procedures are in place in Toronto District School Board schools to protect children from random persons just wandering into schools – claiming to be teachers?

What procedures are in place to check the identity and qualifications of all persons seeking access to children in TDSB schools?

Anyhoo Rhino oops I mean Ryano – drat – Ryan – I take it you’re the TDSB enforcer – you come charging in, huffing and puffing and blowing hot blasts of deadly steam from all orifices – and the object of your fury quivers in abject fear – is that the usual scenario?.

You should be grateful that your name isn’t Barney – otherwise I’d have to liken you to the evil twin brother of big purple dinosaur – a big annoying purple dinosaur. 🙂

See – now I get it – when rent a brain “Sherry” issued her threat that she was gonna tell on me to Ryan Bird I was supposed to run like a rabbit who just spotted a member of the Squamata Serpentes family – that would be snakes by the way.

Except of course you came charging in here like a rhino on speed – I have a typically Irish response to a bully boy stomping about issuing orders.

Póg mo thóin

Tell me something Rhino – have you issued the same threat TO EVERY SINGLE newspaper, journalist and commenter on every single article (of which there are loads) that portrays the TDSB and its employees in a less than positive light ?

Will you also be issuing the same threat to the Minister of EducationLiz Sandals (who I have contacted by the way) and her investigator Margaret Wilson over this Report?

You can’t miss it – it’s right there on the home page of The Ministry of Education for Ontario.

It would appear that “throwing your weight about” is a feature of TDSB tactics – that the “climate of fear” noted by investigator Margaret Wilson in her Review of the TDSB has led to an unwarranted belief that you can pull that shit GLOBALLY.

From: Voters must take Toronto District School Board mess seriously: Editorial – Link Here.

“An Ernst and Young audit last December found $1.3 million in unauthorized raises for senior staff, and noted there was a “culture of fear” among staff about speaking out when problems arise. That audit also criticized trustees for interfering in day-to-day operations of the school board.

Board employees complained earlier this year that they had been subjected to “abusive, threatening and insulting comments” by some board members. Nine of the 22 trustees themselves said they felt threatened by some of their colleagues. The situation got so bad in March that former board chair Chris Bolton asked police to attend TDSB meetings in response to threatening behaviour by a trustee.”

(emphasis added)

What kind of “wild west” gangster operation are you people running over there? Police at School Board meetings? These are people entrusted with the education of CHILDREN?

Some bloody examples you are for impressionable children – a shower of thugs is what you sound like.

Let me tell you what I think – what my opinion is of the TDSB and some of its employees – like you and your coven of wretches.

You’re a disgrace – an absolute disgrace to Education – you should be run out of town on a rail – the whole toxic, mealy mouthed, moronic lot of you.

You and your ilk shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the education of children – if the Minister of Education Liz Sandals has any sense she will exercise her powers under The Education Act 1990 and SHUT YOU DOWN.

Yep – I’ve read the legislation – thoroughly – and The Minister of Education HAS the power to kick your sorry arse to the kerb – the whole lot of you. Left a link there for ya – but I’ll let you go looking for the relevant section. By the way it’s really really looooooooooooooooong. Have fun now.

Judging by not only the number of articles about the cesspit that is the TDSB, but by the almost all negative comments on all these articles – no one is going to be crying any tears over you shower of gobshoites being kicked out on your arses – NO ONE!

Now – kindly take a running jump off a very short pier.

Slainte agus ná lig do an doras bhuail tú ar an thóin ar an mbealach amach 🙂

The most disturbing thing is the broken link to the Canadian Education act 1990. Why? All citizens have the right to read it. The above link for the site has been broken, and on this site too.

      Good morning John 🙂

First – you are de moosic man – nothing like a bit of Roy Orbison to ease you into the day.

“Seems like a lot of your source links have been taken down! Someone is taking a keen interest? They are certainly not doing this any time soon.”

Okie dokie – bear with me – am still at least two cups of coffee short of being fully awake – I’ll go through all the links and check them.

But, you know what is really bizarre?

All this started because a loon called “Lisa Goldsberry” sent me that audio recording of a perfectly sane rational male caller questioning someone in a school in Canada about Child Safety Polices!

In her feminist stupidity she actually believed that this was, in her tiny mind a perfect example of “misogyny”

It has occurred to me to wonder – why did she send it to me – not like I’ve ever shown any sympathy for the feminist “cause”

If this twat had not gone mental and started to disseminate this recording – in particular by sending it to me – I’d probably never have paid that much attention to the goings on in Canada.

No offence to any of the many decent Canadians out there.

I get comments from Canadian feminists from time to time and I usually just delete them because most of them are completely stupid.

So! Well done Canadian Feminists for shooting yourselves in the foot – again. You all have a extraordinary gift for being as thick as two short planks.

“The most disturbing thing is the broken link to the Canadian Education act 1990. Why? All citizens have the right to read it. The above link for the site has been broken, and on this site too.”

Ok – I checked to see if you could access The Education Act 1990 (Canada) just by googling it – that’s working fine – from here anyways – but – just in case anything “odd” is going on – I have a copy of the legislation saved – if needs be I’ll convert it to a PDF and post it up.

Though it is possible that I messed it up when I posted it on here.

I agree that breaking the link to the legislative instrument that governs education in Canada on a School Advocacy site is and could be “disturbing” but let’s not get ahead of ourselves – could be a glitch – couldn’t it? 🙂

Having said that – the fact that various members of the TDSB have stomped on here barking out orders and threats and now the official “spokesperson” for the TDSB has taken it upon himself to do so also – in his official capacity one presumes – can only lead to the conclusion that these “persons” are capable of anything.

      🙂

      Hi Anja,

I was using IE 11 to read the blog so I changed to Chrome and your education act 1990 link went to a sorry we are updating the website type message and auto redirected to the home page of the online law website where you can search for the direct link I found. So it does look like some online maintenance is to blame for that link.

      Song for rhinos everywhere.

I haven’t forgotten the brave teachers who took a chance and posted comments here – one of whom acknowledged that this person’s job as a teacher could be put in jeopardy by doing so.

Nor that there may be many parents who have fallen foul of the TDSB and its preferred tactics, and would wish to lodge formal complaints with regard to unacceptable behaviour by TDSB teachers.

But first let me remind you of whom I am speaking in relation to the TDSB and this blog.

Remove your articles. The recording is not that of Roselands Junior Public School. The administrators at the TDSB are trained with first hand knowledge of the TDSB policies.

Your blog is a mudslinging forum and the TDSB should let the police investigate you.”

Let me type this very slowly so that you lot from the TDSB might actually grasp something – the ONLY people who keep bringing up that school are YOU idiots from the TDSB.

As for “The administrators at the TDSB are trained with first hand knowledge of the TDSB policies.” Lol 🙂 

Seriously? “…first hand knowledge”? as opposed to what pray tell? Chinese whispers?

Pamela you are priceless – TDSB policies – hmmmm – would those be the “policies” that the Review of the TDSB described as creating a “culture of fear”?

The “policies” that necessitated a police presence at school board meetings?

The innumerable articles about the toxic atmosphere that apparently the TDSB is literally choking itself to death with? Those “policies”?

You have no idea how moronic you sound do you?

“…….the TDSB should let the police investigate you

I was unaware that the TDSB was the authority which directed the activities of the police in Toronto!

    How does that work?

So, as well as interfering with the day to day running of the schools in Toronto – as well as engaging in this shit:

“Board employees complained earlier this year that they had been subjected to “abusive, threatening and insulting comments” by some board members. Nine of the 22 trustees themselves said they felt threatened by some of their colleagues. The situation got so bad in March that former board chair Chris Bolton asked police to attend TDSB meetings in response to threatening behaviour by a trustee.”

    (emphasis added)

The TDSB now believes it has the authority to direct the running of the police service in Toronto?

I’ve read almost all the legislation pertaining to education in Canada now – and nowhere did I find anything that gave statutory powers to the TDSB in relation to “policing”

Maybe the TDSB believes that whatever it decides it is “in charge” of – hey presto – magically – it is.

It must be real teddy bears picnic trying to work with these “storm troopers” – my deepest sympathies go out to anyone does have to work with or alongside these people – all that stomping about – barking orders – “abusive, threatening and insulting comments” flying about – it must be an absolute nightmare.

    so much confusion.

so 1st of all, a Lisa sent a recording of a call between a parent and a female administrator, and it’s later revealed that the school and person in question are protected by the TDSB for their incompetence?

and another recording in another post is about a journalist having his calls hung up by the same school and this is a sign that the school is acting unprofesssional……….but in the recording that Lisa sent, the prinicipal denied knowing the incident?

This is so damn confusing, but something is causing the TDSB to behave arrogant.

Are the recordings based on one school? Or are they from various schools?

I’m going to respond to both of your comments together TIAFH (Toronto Is a Feminist Hellhole)

My apologies for the delay in responding to your comment.

      “so much confusion.

Yes indeed – a person called “Lisa Goldsberry” sent me an audio recording of a phone call between who SHE alleged was “a crazy misogynist” and “a female school administrator

      “Lisa Goldsberry
      stopmisogynyincanada@yahoo.ca

Submitted on 2015/01/01 at 12:42 am

Misogyny is a problem in Canada.

A female school administrator of the Toronto District School Board
was verbally harassed on the phone by one of the misogynist men.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPQT66cNhds

Women should not be oppressed by such chauvinst men. Men must learn to respect women.”

The first mention of Roselands Junior School (other than in these recordings that is) on this comment stream, came from a comment from “Danny” on Throwing down the Gauntlet to the TDSB – referencing the recording posted by “Tom the Texan” the link is below.

“I would realize that I might lose my job at the TDSB for commenting on this article, but Tom the Texan gives a response to the TDSB who claims that a parent is misogynist:

The TDSB is a feminist cesspool. Why are the staff at Rose lands hanging up the phone calls anyways? What does that school have to hide which makes the Toronto District School Board adamant to defend the school administrator?”

So now we have two audio recordings on the internet that clearly express concerns about Child Safety Policy – in (a) TDSB School (s)

A matter of great Public Interest wouldn’t you agree?

It is also clear from the recording that the journalist identified himself and the reason why he was contacting this school.

“I’m not surprised one bit that the Toronto DSB is trying to suppress free speech.

A journalist called Rose Lands elementary school and he wanted to speak with the Principal, and he got hung up on several times.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcgH3q8mxGo

What is disturbing is that the journalist wanted to investigate incidents of unreported child maltreatment in Canadian schools, and the employees at the school hung up on him.

Near the ending of the recording, you can hear someone in the background telling the receptionist to hang up the phone.”

      But there’s more

      “Published on Dec 9, 2014

After three failed attempts to speak with the Principal of a public school in Toronto, a freelance journalist spoke with an employee from the Toronto District School Board’s Media & Communications North York division.

The freelance journalist voiced his concerns that the employees of the school were hanging up the phone on him, and that he finds that to be a concern.

The Media & Communications TDSB employee agreed that the conduct of the employees was poorly done, and he claimed that the Principal called his department and provided a claim that the Office Administrator did not hear anyone.

However, the journalist did speak with the Office Administrator, and the Media department personnel apologized for the TDSB employees conduct.

      …The question is:

Why would the employees at the Toronto District School Board school hang up phone calls from a journalist?

      AND

Why would the Principal call the Media & Communications Department with an explanation from the office administrator that she didn’t hear anyone on the other line, when in fact, the office administrator did speak with the journalist on the other line?

Is there some form of falsehood in the Toronto District School Board?”

      Audio recording here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iktewmQvipw

      (emphasis added)

It would also appear that the person with whom this journalist spoke is implying that “students” are to blame for hanging up the phone!

So, “students” in Roselands Junior School allegedly answer the phone?

The students in this school range in age from – FDK – 6

      School Profile here – http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/sift/schoolProfile.asp?SCH_NUMBER=491349

I looked that up – we have a slightly different system of grouping children here in the Republic of Ireland.

FDK = Full Day Kindergarten (4 – 5 years old) – we call that “pre-school” here – in effect these are babies – so I’m guessing it wasn’t these children who were allegedly answering the phone in Roselands Junior School!

Grades 1 – 6 are children between the ages of approx 6/7 years old to approx 11 – 12 years old then?

Soooooooooooooooo, on the basis that it was allegedly “students” answering the phone – we are talking about 12 year old children (the oldest) being blamed for “hanging up the phone” on a journalist?

Excuse me? But what the hell are children doing allegedly answering the phone in the office of a Junior school?

Even if this is the case – that it was children who were “hanging up the phone” again – I repeat – what the hell were they doing in the school office, answering the phone – when they should have been in their classrooms?

What other “administrative” duties are these children tasked with?

Some of the TDSB persons who have posted, have alternatively claimed the hang-ups were because of a “technical problem” with the phone – but – the person whom this journalist spoke to:

“…. a freelance journalist spoke with an employee from the Toronto District School Board’s Media & Communications North York division.”

      An employee of the TDSB’s MEDIA AND COMMUNICATIONS North York division – that’s your bailiwick isn’t it Rhino? (Ryan Bird) “Media and Communications” and that person towards the end of this recording also;

      Tried to blame the CHILDREN!

      That’s just sick. Except – it wasn’t children answering that phone. Because;

“The Media & Communications TDSB employee agreed that the conduct of the employees was poorly done, and he claimed that the Principal called his department and provided a claim that the Office Administrator did not hear anyone.

However, the journalist did speak with the Office Administrator, and the Media department personnel apologized for the TDSB employees conduct.”

An employee of the TDSB CONFIRMED that this journalist had spoken to a school administrator – that the principal was aware of the call – otherwise WHY would she even contact the “Media and Communications” division – is that normally where one calls if there’s a problem “with the phones”

I usually call the phone company when I have a problem with my phone!

      Ryan Bird ryan.bird@tdsb.on.ca

      Pamela Innisfil pamela_innisfil@tdsb.tel.ca

But concerns about Child Safety in ANY Toronto school need to be addressed promptly, openly and transparently – so far, what I see are persons from the TDSB including its “Official SpokespersonRyan Bird – making threats, attempting to intimidate others – including me by the way – and behaving in a manner that could only be described as deeply disturbing.

What I also see is an attempt to deflect legitimate inquiries about Child Safety Policies in a TDSB school by either blaming children for “hanging up the phone” on a journalist or on technical issues with the phone!

At least they didn’t try the “the dog ate my homework” one – that never worked for me!

What I don’t see are any of these persons even pretending to give one flying fart about allegations of a deeply disturbing nature relating to Child Safety in Toronto Schools or addressing those concerns in a rational, responsible or intelligent manner.

Making threats that they will have me “extradited” “arrested” or “investigated” to name but three – screaming like lunatics about “defamation” and barking out orders like storm troopers in what appears to be a belief that somehow they have the authority, the right, to not only make these threats but to have their insane belief in this “authority” kow towed to.

It is patently obvious that what is described here is Standard Operating Procedure for the TDSB:

“Board employees complained earlier this year that they had been subjected to “abusive, threatening and insulting comments” by some board members. Nine of the 22 trustees themselves said they felt threatened by some of their colleagues. The situation got so bad in March that former board chair Chris Bolton asked police to attend TDSB meetings in response to threatening behaviour by a trustee.”

      (emphasis added)

It is also patently obvious that the TDSB has attempted to use threats of “legal measures” as a weapon to silence others who have presumed to criticise the TDSB before.

“In what can be described as more TDSB theatre of the absurd, an obscure six-week-old blog comment resulted in police visiting his home like one might see back in the day of the Stasi in communist East Germany.”

      It backfired on them.

Let me say this to the TDSB – while you might believe that “the law” is merely an extension of your “powers” and a weapon you can employ as a mechanism to silence any “opposition” to your “regime of terror, intimidation and threats” you are in for a big shock.

I urge the Minister of Education Liz Sandals to invoke her powers under the Education Act 1990 and do two things.

      1. Dissolve the TDSB – Toronto District School Board – immediately.
      2. Initiate a Tribunal of Inquiry into the TDSB – Toronto District School Board.

You can Youtube search “Toronto District School Board” to find this and other recordings by activists and other activists such as Blazingcatfur.”

I think we passed “disturbing” some time ago TIAFH– we are now in – what in the name of God is going on here? land!

“Is it common policy for the TDSB to allow their employees to hang up phone calls which mention a request about school policies such as unreported child abuse? Make you wonder why the TDSB is acting the way they are acting.”

Except – It would appear that some persons within the TDSB think putting the blame on children for “hanging up the phone” is the…………………….way to go – without realising that children with a maximum age of approx 12 years old shouldn’t have been answering the bloody phone in the first place – if indeed they were!

Or that claiming “technical problems” with the phone is a plausible excuse – in spite of the fact that an employee in the Media and Communications division CONFIRMED that not only did this call take place he apologised for the conduct of the school administrator – in essence also confirming that it was this school administrator who hung up the phone.

It’s just getting more and more bizarre.

I would doubt that the students would have been in charge of the phones unsupervised while on TDSB property.

Unsupervised pre-teenager phone operators would definitely raise a red flag because it should have been the responsibility of the teachers at Roselands Junior Public School to know what calls are coming into the school.

My opinion about the recording between the journalist and the communications department:

If what Principal Norman said was true; that the students were unsupervised and hung up the phones without supervision by a trusted adult, then her claim alone will be a flaw in her school’s policies in efficient phone service. This is because the general public will expect a qualified receptionist to answer the phone when making a call to a TDSB school.

Thus, I can agree with the Communications Department that the way the school hung up the phone on the journalist was unprofessional.

My opinion about the recording which shows that the phone operators at Roselands hung up the phone on the journalist:

It appears that when the journalist mentioned that he was investigating incidents of unreported child abuse in Canadian schools, the students were not alone in that office.
Because why would the secretary hang up the phone and then lie to the Principal that she didn’t hear anyone.

Even the journalist’s efforts to obtain access to speak with a senior representative (such as a Principal) was blockaded by the secretary of Roselands Junior Public School for some reason.

What is more disturbing is that the Principal casts the blame on the students and the phone line rather than speaking the truth that the journalist called her school about speaking to her regarding incidents of unreported child abuse in Canadian schools, and the journalist was hung up on.

My take on the Ethan and Principal Mrs. Norman recording:

The recording between Ethan Rubinstein and Principal Norman makes clear that she denied having knowledge of the incident at least several times in the recording, and that she showed no interest in asking Ethan about the allegations and instead deflected the issue and kept on referring him to the Superintendent. Now, I see what Principal Norman tried to do there.

If Ethan did contact the Superintendent, the Superintendent Glenford Duffus would ask Principal Norman about Ethan’s concern in which Principal Norman will deny of course. This is exactly how the Toronto District School Board operates.

The general public and concerned parents would like to know why the phone operators at Roselands Junior Public School hanged up the phone several times on a journalist when he mentioned the words “incidents of unreported child abuse in Canadian schools” and that he would like to “speak with the Principal”.

Furthermore, it is suspicious that the Principal Mrs. Norman would call the Communications Department and blame the students for the hang-ups.
In addition, it is very suspicious that the secretary Anna Genua claimed that she didn’t hear anyone while in fact, the recording shows that she did speak to the journalist for a moment.

Despite these recordings and similar facts, Principal Norman denies that she is aware that her “students” disconnected the phone calls of the journalist who wanted to speak with her regarding “incidents of unreported child abuse in Canadian schools.”

The journalist mentioned the words “incidents of unreported child abuse in Canadian schools” and it appears that the school’s phone operators disconnected his calls for some reason.

    Does this raise a concern?

I wonder what the Principal of Roselands Junior Public School is trying to hide concerning that phone call incident about a journalist requesting her school to speak to her regarding child safety policies.

Roselands Junior Public School is a government-funded elementary school in proximity to marginalized ethnic communities in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
There’s no other way to say this. The Principal of Roselands Junior Public School, Mrs Jill Norman, with the help of her cronies at the Toronto District School Board, are trying to censor a number of Youtube videos which appear to be recordings between several TDSB staff members.

The way to defeat totalitarianism in the Toronto District School Board is not to censor Youtube videos , but to tell the truth.

The recognition of the fact that a journalist called Roselands Junior Public School on September 15, 2014 and had his phone calls disconnected at Principal’s knowledge shows how unprofessional some of the Toronto District School Board employees conduct themselves as public sector workers.

Criticizing some of the employees’ conduct at the Toronto District School Board is a moral commitment in ensuring that our children receive the best education in Canada from competent workers who follow the rules and standards of the teaching profession in accordance to provincial and federal regulations.

Suppression of criticism through SLAPP lawsuits, libel chill and police corruption do little to foster democracy in Canada.

The Principal of Roselands Junior Public School Jill Norman had knowledge that a journalist called her school on September 15, 2014 concerning incidents of unreported child abuse in Canadian schools, and that the secretary Anna Genua hung up the phone on him.

In addition, the Principal immediately contacted the Communications Department and claimed that the secretary, Anna Genua, did not hear anyone when in fact the above Youtube link reveals that Anna Genua did speak to the journalist for a short moment. Why are some of the employees at the TDSB such liars?

Based on an anonymous source, the TDSB contacted the Toronto Police Services in January 2015 when they found out the recordings were on Youtube.

Why is the Toronto District School Board eager on removing those recordings from the internet?

Is there really some form of cover up going on between staff at Roselands Junior Public School with regards to the unprofessional and discourteous phone service incident?

Is there something more in which parents are not aware about?

The journalist pointed out that he was investigating incidents of unreported child abuse in Canadian schools and he wanted to speak with the Principal. To his surprise, the phone calls were disconnected several times, including one by Anna Genua.

A forensic analysis of the sound waves and sound output of one of the recordings reveal that in one instance the phone operator was told to “hang up” the phone by someone in the background. This explains that even though the Principals blamed her students for hanging up the phones, a teacher was in charge of supervising those students.

Criticizing employees of the Toronto District School Board is not defamation of character.

Discussing matters of public interest such as why did the staff at Roselands hung up the phone on an investigative journalist should not be defamation of character.

On the contrary, it is the highest expression of concern for the children of the future.

The Toronto District School Board should not be trusted to be honest in some cases, as in the abovementioned narrative about the staff at Roselands Junior Public School who disconnect phone calls from investigative journalists, while hiding under the protection of the Toronto District School Board to censor those recordings from the internet by using the police to engage in unconstitutional behaviour.

Fortunately, the Toronto Police did not act on the unconstitutional requests by the Toronto District School Board because the Youtube uploads are protected under Free speech.

It is irresponsible for any society to allow such conduct by the Toronto District School Board. TDSB Director Donna Quan should be ashamed for trying to foster and condone censorship of free speech.

      Hello and welcome Thomas

Thank you for your comment – an excellent summary of the bizarre events surrounding this series of “incidents” within and around the TDSB.
